Well, we're just getting started, but certainly the tendency is to take some 
kind of weapon-augmentation.  Our Sneak uses a gun and explosives, our 
Bouncer uses a sword.  They've tried to go low on the armor:  we've found 
that even 1/- Leather can be a life-saver.

I think there are some characters/archetypes that are comparable.  Slap some 
Martial Arts on the Screamer and you'd have Black Canary (I think - I've 
lost track of if she has her sonic powers this week or not).

I tend to consider the DC Heroes power level a little higher than Marvel on 
the average (unless you're counting the Squadron Supreme ;) ).  So I'd rate 
BNW lower or on a par with Marvel on average.  The Beast, for instance, is 
very close to a Bouncer with skills, or Banshee/Syryn a Screamer.  As 
someone else noted, I'd tend to consider Cyclops/Havoc more powerful than 
your typical Blaster.
