Re: [PyrNet-L] my dog george
Jane, I'd suggest just not letting him out of the bedroom!
When we took Ivy Rose in April (5 1/2 years old, never been in a house
before) we had something similar occur several times. If she went
downstairs before we did in the morning, she'd often go on the kitchen
rug. We took to keeping her confined, and making her *follow* us down the
stairs instead of race ahead, then wait while we opened the doors to the
back yard. It's now been several months since any accident, and over the
past week or so, she's gone down without us and waited until she got
outside. I don't *know* what was going on--we thought that once she woke
up, she just couldn't wait, but she was fine waiting until we showered,
dressed, or whatever as long as she didn't go downstairs first. We now
wonder if it was her way of establishing "possession" of her place.
Anyway, good luck with George!
