Our two dogs sleep in their kennels at night which are both in my bedroom.
They seems to prefer their kennels because it is their own private place and
they even go into their kennels in the afternoons to take a nap without
telling them to do so.  I used to think that kenneling a dog was mean but I
had learned that a dog's natural instinct was to have a den that was strictly
theirs and apparently its true.  The kennel doors are shut at night and we
have no problem with midnight snooping around the house.  I think that
kenneling or crating is one of the best things that have come along.
