I find it very intersting what you are discussing about Cathedral.
But before you start coding Look below what can be read at the bottom of the

I don't know how much this apply to PBeM but I guess we should avoid using
the name:
Cathedral, official name of the pieces, rewrite the rules with our own
rules, ...
Or alternatively ask the author permition.
What do you thing?
Also, on the same web site there was a forum where some peaple cleam to have
find the killer move for first (or second player). I think I still have the
information somewhere.
But if there is already a strong indication that the game is a win for first
(second) why investing time on that game?
