[HOE] ship armor and power gaming



You know,
  It's always hard to make stats for something *really* big in an RPG.  Did
you ever think about it, exactly *How* much armor would Godzilla have?
Similar for a big starship.  I'm remembering in my anal-retentive power
gaming phase, looking at the Robotech Masters Mothership from Palladium.  It
had 15,000,000 hitpoints.  Seem like a lot?  Well, I, being in that
unpleasant phase, took the hitpoints, divided it by the surface area, and
got that a 20 foot by 20 foot hole took .65 hitpoints of damage to punch
through.

    The ship armor of the unity, it's a bit of a moot point and it's hard to
really do it well.  I give HoE great credit for having things that go from
rats to Hovertanks and the scaling is very good and yet there's almost no
number over 20 in any of them.

    So,  while we're on the topic, and Godzilla is a giant radiactive beast,
and HoE is filled with Giant radioactive beasts, how much armor *would*
Godzilla have?  What would his size level be?  The same issues come about
(Especially if you're going to see the new film, Godzilla 666, Godzilla goes
to Hell.  And yes, demons do have surface to air missiles, All them nazis
down there taught them demons a thing or two about ballistics).

    It's hard to do, so relax.  And if you don't, beware, because my giant
radioactive lizard beasts are bigger than your giant radioactive lizard
beasts.  :P
