[HOE] Another Junker question.
Sorry. I always seem to find questions in drips and drabs.
I got to thinking about Junker devices, and I went to make one when a
question occured to me. I checked the listserv archive, but couldn't find
that it had been asked before.
When you make a weapon with the Weaponsmith power, and use the Extra Damage
option, it adds damage dice by making it a "powered weapon" (electricity,
vibrating edge, chainsaw, etc.). This gives the weapon drain (obviously),
and it also lowers the weapon's speed by an amount equal to the number of
dice added.
My question(s) are...
1). If I simply elect not to turn the power on, does the weapon STILL do
damage, but as an unpowered version of the same (does a turned-off
vibrosword still do regular sword damage if used as such)? Common sense
tells me yes, but I just like to make sure.
2). If I don't turn the power on, does the speed penalty still apply to the
weapon, or is that a permanent side-effect of the process?
Many thanks for those who answer.
