What about thermographic? Let me explain why I'm asking.

Spoiler space in case any of my players are lurking.

I'm working on an adventure where my posse goes up against a tainted
Junker who has developed control chips for zombies. He was a cybernetics
engineer as well, so he's added guns (walkin' guns), blades (walkin' knives)
and even plastic explosives (walkin' bombs) to his creations. His home is
an abandoned SA military research base in Nevada and, when the posse arrives
there one of the things they find is that about every 30 feet around the
perimeter of the compound there's a 15-foot tall pole with a head on the top
of it. It looks like a gruesome trophy display, but the heads are actually
aware. They can swivel and spot anything within a 20 yard range, they're
equipped with thermal imaging and when alerted they start to give off this
ghastly scream to alert the troops.
One of my players has a device that mimics the Predator power, so I'm
trying to give her an unpleasant surprise. It doesn't seem to me that the
device or the power would be able to mask body heat, especially at night in
the desert.
