Well - IIRC - thermographic is just the wavelength of light that emanates
from warm sources, and is normally below the human visable spectrum. (It
takes relatively hot things to emanate in visible frequences, like
fire. Red is a relatively "cool" flame and blue is flaming HOT)
But you have two ways around this.
One) The device itself does not extend it's warping effect into the
non-visible spectrums.
Two) The device certain doesn't extend into the metaphysical
spectrums. And the heads can see the souls of the characters approaching.
But don't tell the posse why the heads all turn to them and start screaming
their, er, fool heads off.
