If you have Cyborgs, have him build a spirit fetter for it and use that
system. Careful, though, he might take it into his mind to _create_ a
cyborg if you've got Harrowed in the posse.  If you don't have that book,
have him build a custom-adapted spirit battery, and pull a card, using that
die value for the drain.  Either way, for balance, I'd have some kind of
degradation of the manitou.  Maybe every time the trap fails a satibility
check, the maintou's drain falls by a die type in addition to any other
nastiness that failing the check entails.  Hope that helps.
