 First Deadlands game I ever played in ever was a sort of Part 2 of a previous
 campaign, with two of the characters from before carrying on, and some new
 blood being introduced.  One of the older characters was a harrowed Injun
 who used to be a scout for the Confederates until he woke up one day in Dodge
 with blood and holes in his jacket and no idea what had happened or how he
 got there, and with no memory of the past six weeks or so.

 He had 1 or 2d4 in Smarts, and the player played it really well.  The only
 name he was known by was Tonto (a local newspaper had accidentally dubbed
 him that, and he was not AT ALL impressed).  During his six weeks' absence,
 his motivating factor had realised the habit its host had of putting these
 cigar things in its mouth - not knowing what else to do with them, it
 started eating them, so when he took the wheel again, he was eating cigars
 without knowing why (he stuck with it though).

 He was from a tribe that placed a large value on horses, and when my
 character wandered into town, it was shortly after he'd come in with a
 large train of branded Union Army horses, parading them around proudly
 like it was money, a flashy car and a bunch of hot chicks rolled into one.
 The Army took exception to this, of course.

 He had a big old black powder rifle that he'd fire inaccurately at his foe
 (because it's the done thing) and then ditch, to charge into close combat
 with two tomahawks.

 Anyway, that's the only Injun PC I've ever encountered in Deadlands.
