[DL] LS question (not really for Christopher) - got kinda long
But Christopher is welcome to answer too ;).
OK, I would like to get some info from people who
already have Lone Stars. Can someone give me a rouhg
comparison of pages taken up by dual-statting versus
total number of pages? And was the design changed
(maybe to a slightly smaller font) to allow for the
same amount of info in spite of the dual stats?
Here's why I ask: I recently bought "Ascension of the
Magdalene" because I'm s big fan of Unknown Armies.
It's a 64 page adventure for $13.95. Unfortunately, I
did a count of pages dedicated to dual-statting last
night. Approximately 24 pages are taken up by D20
info. I knew it was dual-statted when I bought it -
I'm not complaining about that, but I was surprised to
learn that more than 1/3 of the book was taken up by
D20 stuff.
I'm not trying to start a flame war about DL D20 - I
play D&D3 and am thinking about getting CoC D20 and
Star Wars. However, I won't be playing DL D20 - I like
the original system, as do most of the gamers I play
with. I am concerned about how much space is not of
use to me (and just me, I know it's of use to those
who play DL D20) when I buy a dual-statted book. If
it's as much as with "Ascension..." I'm going to have
to seriously think about future DL book purchases. I
don't think I'm willing to pay the same amount for a
1/3 or greater reduction in content.
This possibility is disappointing to me. I have very
much enjoyed Christopher's other writings for DL and
was excited about LS. I sope the space used for the
dual stats is not so much that PEG roducts drop down
my priority list.
Thanks for any help.
Hank
