there is one very important reason you can't do that, and that is the same
reason a person can't have multiple arcane background(except for HOE's
jonker and huckster).
this reason is, that all characters with arcane backgrounds get their powers
from the same place--the hunting grounds.  it's how they interperet the
hunting grounds and how they pull power from it that makes it impossible for
a person to have different backgrounds.  there may be a few that are
compatible, but only in HOE.  let's take a look at common arcane
backgrounds:
1.Blessed:rely on their faith to give them power through prayer.  may be
compatible with templars.
2.Mad scientists:Think of the ideas coming into their heads as "muses",
incompatible with HOE ABs.
3.Hucksters:Physically tromp around the hunting grounds to beat manitous
silly.  compatible with hucksters.
4.Shamans:rely on rituals to gain favor for power.  Still around in HOE.
5.Martial artists:focus Chi' energy through their body to execute powerful
attacks.  still around in HOE, close to sykers.
6.Voodoo:relies on spell components and general "bad mojo" to get their
curses and such to work.  possibly compatible with witches.
