    The players can take 10 points from the list of hindrances in the 
players handbook and in almost every other sourcebook for Deadlands. Each 
of these Hindrances has a point value. You gain that point value from 
taking Hindrances, to be used to buy either Edges or Aptitudes. You do not 
spend points to get Hindrances, you gain points by taking them. The maximum 
number of points you can gain by taking hindrances is 10. Hindrances are 
also helpful to players as the marshal rewards them for roleplaying their 
character's hindrances, by giving the players Fate Chips.
