RE: [DL] HELP - Hindrances & Edges
OK, a PC can choose as many hindrances as they want, up to a total of 10
points worth. Any hindrance that they want. If they choose a hindrance
(or hindrances) they get that many points to add to their character,
either as extra skill points, or as points to buy edges. Hindrances do
not cost you points, they *give* you points.
This is the only way to buy edges, which means that a starting character
cannot have more than 10 points worth of purchased edges, except in one
very specific case (Veteran of the Weird West).
Make more sense?
Joe

Subject: [DL] HELP - Hindrances & Edges
Howdy ya'll,
My Marshal brock. I'm getting ready to start my first Saga in a few
weeks and realized I found something I couldn't answer.
And as an FYI, I have almost all of the books, sup, box sets and
adventures for Deadlands. I've been reading and learning for about 3
months now, but finally was able to get a group together.
So here's the situation:
In the 1877 PHB (page49) it says "players can take up to 10 points in
Hindrances" First question - take 10 points from where? Or are they
given ten points to spend if they want.
Then it says "The points from these can be used to buy Edges (which
we'll get to in a little bit) or more Aptitudes." Second question -
where is this mentioned later on? I could n't find it anywhere, can
someone give me a page number.
Bottom line here is that I have no idea how many points a PC gets in
Hindrances or Edges. Help! Can someone please shed some light on this
for me, thanks.
~Marshal Brock~
BANG ... You're dead.
