New Universe guy was actually not a "Bomber" per se...he was a Teleporter. 
The cool part about it was that when he 'ported, there was a literal void in 
his shape left behind, and the farther away he ported, the more powerful (ie 
un-natural...see addage) the void was (running on the addage that Nature 
Abhors a Vacuum), and the bigger the resulting explosion was.

Might be a kind of cool quirk for Teleporters. Displacement of volume, and 
the sudden lack of matter in space is something that doesn't generally get 
addressed when dealing with teleportation.
