Re: [BNW] Teleporters
I have a Teleporter in my group and we've had a couple of questions come up.
Below is some clarification on the current Tricks (Thanks, Matt!) and a new
one for your opinions.
Teleport Foe:
The advantage this trick has is that you can send telp someone and not have
to go with them. The actual mechanics for this, a la Matt, are make your
Fighting/Martial Arts roll to touch your target and then make your
Navigation roll to see if you telp them away. (If you miss the roll, well,
I hope you still have an action left to Dodge . . . ) You can also use this
on a friend to telp them without going along. This Trick only affects one
person at a time.
Teleport Friend:
The advantage this trick has over using Teleport Foe is, while you have to
go along with the telp, every extra success lets you bring another person
with you. If you roll high enough (or spend the Delta Points) you can bring
your entire team along.
Teleport Object: (Opinions, please!)
This trick allows you to telp an inanimate object without going along with
it. For every extra success on a Navigation roll, you can telp one more
level of Size (one extra success for a Size 1 object, two for a Size 2 . .
. ).
Note: This is a very powerful trick and one that should reinforce the
reality of consequences to your players. My player cannot wait to be able
to teleport grenades to the bad guys and is going to hate the results: Being
an unregistered Delta puts you on Delta Prime's 'People We'd Like To Speak
To If We Get The Chance' list. Being an unregistered Delta who can - and
does - send bombs through walls moves you to the top of their 'People We
Make The Effort To Meet' list. I wonder what she's going to run next . . .

Teleport Opinion:
Another trick my player would like to develop is Teleport At Range. In my
opinion and campaign, I see the physical touch being an intrisic part of how
the power works and it will not work without it. If you've never dealt with
teleporting PCs in your game before, you might want to consider doing the
same; Teleporting at range, especially when you can telp other people, is
very unbalancing. IMHO, it is an Alpha-level Power, not Trick. I'd like to
hear other opinions on this.
