Yes, It is  !!~~~I have no Human children either~~am very familiar with the "ackkkkkk" sound also~~I've used it around My neices and nephews,(involuntarily),~~it works on them too !!  Of course, the parents are'nt very thrilled , when I explain that I use it on My dogs ! It's also amazing to Me how much puppys and children are alike in their mental/emotional developement~~
I tend to inter-change puppy's and children's re-actions(using one or the other as an example to explain a "phase" )~~This DOES NOT go over real big when I compare a child to a dog, even tho I explain to the Parents that "in NO WAY do I value a dog over a child !                      <BG>
