Re: [pyrnet] Re: pyrnet-l-digest.20010611

Although I can say that I have never been in a disaster situation where I had
to leave my home I can honestly say that personally I know I wouldn't leave
my animals, none of them! We don't own a trailer yet so i would end up with 2
prys, a Chihuahua, 15 goats 2 baby bunnies and about 40 chickens in the truck
(crew cab) with the 4 humans when we left. if the water came up so fast that
i couldn't get the vehicles out and had to be rescued then i would at least
open all gates to all pens and hope i could recover my animals at a letter
date. I worked for the county during the flood in 94 and although this flood
was worse in the Houston area the runoff in 94 destroyed most of east
Montgomery County and the amount of dead animals we had to get out of peoples
barns and pens was horrifying. I totally understand that it is impossible
for some people to take their animals but for Gods sake cut the fence, at
least give them a fighting chance. Odds are pretty high you will eventually
get them back.
Hope this doesn't offend anyone this is only my opinion. but it only takes
working the clean up of one flood to give you a whole new perspective. my
heart goes out to all of you who were effected on this latest tragedy
