Yes Robyn, I know that is the case, and rage at the unfairness of that
type of treatment as well. I guess though, as an animal lover, I
question why people who care would even use that type of facility? I
would just load up and drive with the gang, not go someplace where the
animals were not wanted. Just like the lady hauling her big cats inland
every time a major storm was due.
I worry with tornadoes because there is less time to work with. I look
at those storm shelters ( or safe rooms that are now being built into
homes ) and wonder how the heck I would get two horses down there? It is
not easy, but with the amount of animals left to fend for themselves I
think that the majority of pet owners just don't care when push comes to
shove. I know there are the ones that do and they are devastated. I
think the majority feel though..." I can always get another", and that's
the pitfall when you don't value the lives of other species. IMO Cindy
