Barb, I am certainly a firm believer in microchipping, all of my dogs
are! Lot of good it does out here in the wilds of New Mexico though.
The closest shelter that has a scanner is 140 miles from here. If
any of my dogs are ever stolen, there is a better chance to find them
with the microchip. Up until 3 years ago, none of the vets in our
little town even had tattoo equipment. Several of us talked our vet
into getting one. Now even a woman who has LGD's is having her dogs
ID'd by tattoo. I was just wondering how many of you in the more
rural areas have tattoo or microchip available? Our club is
microchipping all of our rescues and offering the service to our
members for a nominal cost.
