Tracy, I also use half slip (we call them Limited Slip) collars.
They are great but I've had 2 of my dogs get the rings caught on
the crate door latch. Bo just stood and barked but Chelsea got
caught on the lower latch while lying on her back. (don't ask me
how she did it, still can't figure it out!) If we hadn't been
here she would have either choked to death or broken her neck
from struggling. Had to lift her while on her back while someone
else untangled the collar from the latch. My dogs no longer wear
collars of any kind while in the house, just too risky with these
dogs of mine. They are, however, microchipped so they carry their
ID with them permanently.
