You can try to get an enzyme eater type cleaner. Some do the job quite well.
It seems though that your problem may be a bit beyond that. If you intend on
replacing the carpet the best thing to do would be to seal it with some Kilz
sealent. In really badly saturated areas you can lightly sand the spot and
then use the Kilz sealent. I know it is a rental but if you intend on staying
for any duration and want to avoid your babies from messing over the same spot
this would be the best way. It is not hard and it is releativly inexpensive
nor will it consume alot of your time. 
By the time you are done trying all of these different products that claim to
do the job you could have used this method by the time you are done.
I have never had a problem like this but I helped a friend of mine with a
similar problem with a Hud home he purchesed that had been abandoned with the
exception of a large family of cats. (You could only imagine) I dont think it
cost him more than 60 dollars (this included my fee, Pepsi and pizza) for
helping.
