We had something of the same behavior from Paddington when we first
brought Ivy Rose home--possibly too soon after Shelley died. We did the
kind of things you are doing, and even now, six months later, try to make
sure to give him some special attention, but he *did* get over it, and
loves to play with her now. I guess it's much the same as having a child
and bringing home a new baby! It might be harder for you than it was for
us because puppies are so demanding, but Ivy is very pushy, and tends
still to push between us when I'm petting Paddington. I ignore her, and
eventually she stops--she gets *plenty* of attention! So I guess all I can
advise is to hang in there.
