[PyrNet-L] Darkening of coat
Greetings,
I am a new subscriber, with a fairly new Pyrenees, whom
I rescued from an Animal shelter in Corpus Christi, Texas.
My darling Pyr (now called) Bart was taken back to
Minnesota in a Geo Metro (what a shock for the poor thing -
both Winter and an extremely long car ride)! Nonetheless
a student in a class I teach upon encountering my dog
notified me that, he is "sick" because his coat is
darkening. WE rescued him last December and he
does seem to be turning a reddish tan color in places
and I was concerned as to what may be causing this to happen.
My Vet (who is a rural farm vet) can not help and
my student (who is from Japan and speaks only some English)
can only tell me that I need to change Bart's diet and
wash him in ionized alkaline water. This may be a common
problem, so I am sorry if I am bothering the list with
something already much discussed, but I am concerned and
want to be sure Bart is getting everything he needs.
(he is about 4 or 5 years old, by the way and has
been neutered (if any of this is important). Thank you
so much, in advance.
Sincerely
