[PyrNet-L] CHAT: Funny thing last night.......
I'm in pain - lots of it and it is hard to move or get comfortable. I went
out to Albert's pen after dark, with a flashlight that was dimming away to
nothingness, to let Albert in. I found him and put his leash on and he was in
an understandable hurry to go inside. I was trying to glance and see if he'd
ate all his food and he was being impatient and I turned around and
immediately fell in his latest hole and ankle went and I went sideways
thinking I was about to fall into his water dish - a big plastic dish inside
the hole of a tire to keep it from spilling. Well what I didn't know is (for
some unknown reason no one will fess up to) there was a big huge white plastic
bucket upside down in the pen and I hit it with my head and screwed up my
neck, jaw, back, wrist and ankle. Through it all I managed to hang onto that
leash, though!! I spent most of yesterday laying down on the couch and Albert
was much better behaved than usual and he kept coming and laying his head on
me. He also had lots of slimes for me, usually as I was about to nod off to
sleep. He also decided that I needed even more comforting and crawled up on
the couch and lay down with me. I did not like it when he pushed on my back,
so finally he decided that the best position was to lay on his back beside me
with his feet up in the air!! Now I'm sure this is not exactly what my Dr.
would have recommended, but it did make me smile and laugh and feel better
emotionally, if not physically!! Now if you'll look at your couch and try to
picture this you'll have to picture a Pyr over 100 pounds and should we say a
"Big-Boned Gal" and you'll see this doesn't seem to fit. Well you're right! He
had to actually be kind of on me towards the back of the couch so that I was
supporting him somewhat. Boy! Is he heavy!! Wasn't so bad as long as he held
still. But now he had to wiggle and twist and lean back and turn his head to
slime me every so often. Except for my hands which were massaging and petting
him - those he could slime at will!
