Hi Dave
You seem to be making some assumptions here and previously, that I do not
think anyone intended. I, nor have I seen anyone, belittle the love and value
we have for our dogs. A dog is not a human, but is part of our (your) family,
but a dog nonetheless. IMHO I appreciate and value the dog over the merits of
many humans I come in contact.
Your technique of interacting with your dogs is purely yours and not subject
to our interpretation or intervention unless the dog would be abused or
otherwise injured.
<<The wonderful thing to me is that I dont believe they are just dogs. They
are
my constant companions and very loving towards me.>>
Again you come with that "just a dog" stuff as if there was some dishonor in
being a dog. Certainly you know your dog is not a human or another species.
The "just" implies some diminished appreciation by some of us and just the
opposite is true. They are also our companions and very loving towards us as
well.
I am not sure where you see the distinction or the exact point you are making
as we all seem to hold them in equal esteem. That should be enough, don't you
think?
Best wishes,
