[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for September 19th
MOVIE TOWN, SOCAL – A Trader caravan from the village of Jackpot, Nevada has
contacted the local Library with the following report. The group in question
had halted for the evening on the outskirts of the Reno ruins. In the early
morning hours, under the light of a full moon, several members of the night
watch reportedly saw over a dozen translucent figures appear under the still
surface of Lake Tahoe. The figures then moved up on shore and silently
coasted over the ground at high speed, heading for the remains of downtown
Reno. As the caravan left the area the next morning, guards noted over a
dozen watery trails reminiscent of the tire tracks left by older model
motorcycles.
STORM LAKE, IOWA – The opportunity of a lifetime awaits a lucky waster at a
very unusual action to be held at the Full House bar and hotel. A trader
baron calling himself Franchise along with a pair of scavvie scouts named
Fibber and Molly McGee are offering a one of a kind vehicle to the highest
bidder: a fully assembled and refurbished Pentacorp Industries construction
blimp. The package includes several flight manuals, the location of a
suitable fuel depot, and a small collection of spare parts. Tools are not
included. The hosts have already set a number of ground rules for the event.
First; all bids must be brought to or near the city limits of Storm Lake to
be verified by the hosts. Second; no slaves or indentured servants will
acceptable as a bid. And lastly; anyone attempting to ascertain the location
of the prize outside of the auction will be ejected from the proceedings.
Notables said to the intending to attend next month include Flamboyance
Brown, a Trader Baron from Texarkana, Law Dogs Gary Jefferson and Christie
Zimmers, Piper from the Apache Junction Engineer’s Society, a light combat
cyborg calling itself Captain Flint, the Junker duo of Boojum and Quark and
an eccentric air courier who answers only to Swoop.
