That would be the one.  Desert Rangers, Las Vegas, Proton Axes, all that
good stuff.

Story goes that Interplay wanted to make an actual official sequel to
Wasteland, but was unable to procure the rights to the license.  So rather
than scrap the idea, they created their own post-nuclear RPG and added a
couple of homages to their precursor (one of the NPCs you can acquire in the
first Fallout mentions that he spent time with the Desert Rangers.  The
inside flap of the box also asks potential customers "Remember Wasteland?").
