Actually, the bonus probably should go down.  Partly because of the lack of
sights like Theo mentions, and because of the "shortness" of the human hand.
Short, "snub" pistols don't aim well because of the tiny distance between
front and rear sights.  Longer barrelled pistols are better, carbines and
long rifles even better.  As the distance between front and rear sights
increases, the amount of error in aim angle decreases for a given
misalignment of sights.  Gawd, this is hard to describe.  Let's try an ascii
diagram:  The O's are the desired target, the top vertical bar is the front
sight, the lower bar is the rear sight.  You can see which will be closer to
target.  Or not, if your mail doesn't display in a fixed pitch font.
