Re: [HOE] MPH/pace Questions v. hsrunner
Am I the only one who thinks this is a really lame-ass excuse? No
offense to the person who said it, but this is usually the first defense
for munchkinism that comes up, and I'm kinda tired of it. The best HoE
games I've ever played aren't about Schwartzenegger (or equivalent)
blowing crap up, they were about what happens to normal (yes, NORMAL)
people when they're put in extraordinary situations. Knowing that a
Doomsayer character can shoot bolts of nuclear fire (or is it plasma?)
isn't nearly as cool as knowing that he also used to be a regular guy
until the world changed around him.
If you want to play action stars, you should go play Extreme Vengeance.
That has absolutely NONE of that pesky realism that gets in the way of
Van Damme singlehandedly sinking a submarine while being totally unable
to complete a sentence.
