[HOE] Good, Evil, And The American Way

<< read "Rogue State" by William Blum and you will get a fairly good Idea why
sentiments such as these can be offensive to some people.
This is not yank Bashing. But I found myself offended by these
 statements and their implications.
 Reuben McCallum >>

The statements and implications are, unfortunately, true. And, I bet most of
people on this list really don't know what we're discussing. I bet most the
people on the list saw Independence Day or U571 and it never occurred to them
the inherent flag waving and inaccuracy (to say the least) of the films.

My Challenge to you, Mr McCallum, is to bring more internationalism to HoE.
But right now, and for a while, it's formed based on the legends of American
West and American ideals. And sadly, these legends DO ignore the rest of the
world as insignificant.

Now I would really like to see some conjecture about what things are like in
the rest of the world (The SAS are legendary in Britain, are they legendary
enough to earn Arcane Background? Are the Nazi's back!? All dead and meaner
than ever? Dadaism, HoE style? A good post-apocalyptic model would be
Europe after the Black Plague. Or after the Fall of the Roman Empire. This
would lend a very different flavour than having things based on the untamed
American West).

Dusarat@aol.com if you don't think the rest of the list would like to hear
it.
