To be frank, I find this an alarming statement. Whilst it is all very will
to accept there are large numbers of people out there who are bigotted,
close-minded and insensitive, to tar so many with one brush is frankly
uncalled for. Never mind the fact that, frequently, creative types tend to
at least attempt to engage with their world (albeit perhaps to the point of
self-indulgent philosophising), particularly those who indulge in such...
marginalised activities as roleplaying. I have rarely found a more
open-minded selection of individuals than the roleplaying community as a
whole. And as for inaccuracy in Independence Day, well, I don't see that
many UFOs circling over the White House (although it might explain a lot...)
