[HOE] Powered armor and hovertanks...oh my.

A quick question based on some of the things I've read in Waste Warriors.

Powered armor suits USED to have standard batteries that could be recharged
in the field. This was first mentioned back in The Wasted West, and PEG
didn't forget about that when they wrote Waste Warriors, it seems. When
reading about the hovertanks, it mentions that the fusion reactors had
almost limitless energy reserves, and that they had power hookups out the
wazoo.

Now, this may be incredibly munchy... I'm not ASKING if *I* can do this,
just wondering out loud.

Could someone with a suit of powered armor who somehow found a functional
hovertank or APC "undo" the spirit battery conversion of their suit, hook it
up to the vehicle, and get a full tank of conventional juice? I mean, what
would the effects be like? Would the conversion even be undoable? Is it
just too headache-inducing to even think about?

Imagine someone(s) who happens to have a damaged hovertank in his(their)
possession. No main gun, but the fusion reactor still works. They then
charge incredibly high sums of money to robohunters and the like for a full
tank of "jan-u-wine pre-War fusion power".

This begs another question...

Several groups seem like they have access to some hovertanks. Various
military personnel have a few, and the Convoy has a whopping FIVE of the
things (must have been clearance day at Mil-Mart). So, it seems like
Junkyard OUGHT to be able to acquire one or two of the things.

Assuming they did, would they (or anyone, really) be able to hook them up
and just use them as perpetual fusion generators? It mentions in Iron Oasis
that Junkyard has various energy problems (not enough ghost rock, for one
thing). Is this idea incredibly clever, or too good to be true? How much
DOES one of the things output?

Just random synaptic firings.
