If you can afford it, I'd reccomend it sight-unseen. Great way to come up with
extra stuff, or maybe a crossover, or even hints if it gives generic hints.
Have you GM'd before? HoE is the first game I've GMed with any seriousness.

That it is

I don't know about these. Seems to me someone released huckster/Mad
Scientist/etc extra sheets before.

I'll go for it. You said the magic word ("Deadlands")

Yeah. But it depends: are you marshaling new players? If so, keep them
interested - even if it compromises "good judgement". Just compensate with bad
guys. I roleplayed before, but not really Marshalled. My players hadn't even
touched Deadlands before (except one who played Doomtown ep1-6, but quit before
7). The following are some of their stuffs:

Junker has a lightsaber and an AK-47, and a Back to the Future Hoverboard.
Rocketboots complete his ensamble, complete with rockets in them and VTOL.

Templars is new, but his player's previous Bless'ed had "Jesus Bread" (stale
toast molded into the shape of Jesus using Arts: Sculptin'. Like I said, let it
go and they'll enjoy it and accidentally roleplay). The Templar has a Tokarev.
Those are sweet.

The Harrowed wears a Trenchcoat (as did the rest of the posse) when they went
through Colorado spying on Throckmorton. He has several guns under there - 2
rifles, 3 pistols, and a Relic-Shotgun. He also has a crowbar and brass
knuckles. For social outings, he wears a $2000 (pre-war cost) business suit to
wear with a pink wig.

The Martial Artist has been good, hasn't even gone up on too many new powers
(*loves* Monkey to the Mountain, though!). He also scavenged a Fire Ax from
Dempsey Park). But his character sheet's "Gear" is near empty. I'm very
impressed with his self control. He overplays Vengeful, but then again, so does
everyone. He *did* intervene in a fight between Bubba (the Harrowed) and Andrew
(the Junker).

Can you do worse? :)

Oh - a Shape of things to come is a great starter for never-before-roleplayed-but-seen-Aliens-and-Max-Max.
