Your right. So how would you handle the snatching a pebble thing? An
opposed quickness test, and then a straight deftness roll for the winner?

You're right though, nix the deftness or nimbleness. My marshal will be
happy, he was worried about it being too versatile.
Also, I was assuming that the syker could make a short move, but didn't
really define how far. What do you think, up to her normal movement?
