Did he draw the Joker for the arcane background, or did you secretly?  I 
assume you did so secretly (otherwise he'd kinda know he was Hindrance...).  
And I've foudn that the best way to handle it myself.  If it's something 
they would know, you can always tell them...

One of my Deadlands characters who became a HoE Veteran of the Weird West is 
still trying to figure out why they still have that Bad Luck hindrance, 
unaware one of their items is Cursed...
