Here's a couple off the top of my head:

1.  The posse gets infected with the virus/disease, and it starts to do weird
things to them...
2.  As they are trying to break in, they get attacked by a legion of undead, but
they are not really the targets, they are just in the way, the undead have come
back to get revenge on the gang for withholding the vaccine.
3.  Maybe they aren't withholding the vaccine after all, maybe, just maybe it
infected one of the leaders and instead of killing him turned/mutated him into
some kind of hideous monster

What do the rest of you guys think?
