Throckmorton is a harrowed Cyborg. He was a already a general when he died on 
the battlefield and returned Harrowed. His body was badly damaged, so the 
Rebs turned him into a cyborg. Since there was no reason to question his 
loyalty to the cause, he had only a minimal AI installed. He's an exception 
to the "no deaders in command positions" rule most militaries had.
