[HoE] The Press Release
Hi Guys,
Yes, the news is true. Alderac and Pinnacle are splitting up. Matt Forbeck
(and BNW) will be staying with Alderac, while all the Deadlands properties
and products revert back to me. This will happen between November 1st and
January 1st.
This is one of the primary reasons Grim Crusade will NOT debut on Halloween
as previously scheduled. We have to start from scratch in setting everything
up, so don't be surprised if you don't see it until next year. I know you're
thinking "everyone will have forgotten about it by then!" Good. That's what I
want. Forget about it. When it's ready and we know we can put it out like we
need to, you'll see it. In the meantime, go play something else. By the time
you're bored with it, we'll have GC ready for you.
Other projects, such as Judgment Day, are also on hold until we figure out
our resources. Lost Colony is still planned for an August 2000 release,
however. That date is firm until further notice.
Please don't bombard me with questions and don't fill the net with personal
speculation. The press release is 100% true. We're still *very* good friends
(Matt, myself, and everyone at AEG, that is), we just can't run 2 companies
when the second one is so spread out.
Fortunately, this is a good time for the split as Matt's game is blowing off
the shelves. I have long said BNW is one of the best games *ever,* and I
still believe that. It's also one of the best-looking. Those of you who are
PEG fans should stick with it when it picks up that AEG logo--I know what
some of Matt's plans are and they're incredible!
As for me, I'm very happy about the change. We all have different ideas about
how things should be run, and we're probably all right for the direction we
want to go. But DL is my baby, and I'm very happy I get to choose which
sunset it'll ride into. I'll miss my buds, but we'll still see each other and
drink way too much at all the shows.
