I think they worded it badly and the fact that the word 'sevitor' isn't
capitalized (like it usually is) IMNHO it means that they were think a
servant or a "not-abomination abomination."

That one got me too. I'm guessing that once the virus has run it's course
and the target is under full control the unit 'reinitializes' and starts up
an abomination.

What about plague zombies, except the Great Mall strain (which are only
covered because of Kane).
