[haggis] good suits and crap suits
Unless I'm mistaken, white is a kickass suit in 86. I
know one of the reasons why, based on an advanced
rule. I bet it has a pretty high value as well.
I made a suggestion in my chatrant about this. I'm
repeating it here so that people can nitpi...evaluate
it.
The values and whether they are involved in combos and
sets in advanced rules seems to be pretty random.
Since the absolute value of a card is known, perhaps
that could be used to balance the suits a little and
provide more paths to victory. Cards with lower
absolute value could be more likely to be involved in
positive advanced rules, and vica versa.
So we won't have any rules like:
Purple is worth 6
Whoever has the most purple gets a bonus of 12
Teal is worth 8 less than purple
Whoever holds three or more purple cards gets -10
You'd pretty quickly get a lockup of people trying to
ditch Teal and get Purple. The winner would likely be
the first person to get some purple out of an
unsuspecting person with the wrong rules.
More balanced would be:
Purple is worth 6
Whoever holds three or more purple cards gets -10
Teal is worth 8 less than purple
Each pair of teal multiplies the value of a purple
card by 2.
