RE: [DL] New Marshal New Posse - Minor Spoilers

As a long time player and Marshal of Deadlands, since the game came out, I
have taken some new players and introduced them to Deadlands so let me give
you some advice.

1) No new player should be a Pinkerton, Ranger, Agent, or other character
that is in the "know." To hard for them unless they have read the books a
couple of times.

2) Chips. Make them flow like water. Don't be afraid, as Marshal, to give
and keep on giving. If someone sneezes give a chip. Don't' worry as Marshal
you can cheat if the players get to tough and it is already easy enough to
get the chips back from the players.

3) For the first couple of sessions worry more about feel and Roleplaying
than the rules. If you miss or don't get a rule don't worry that comes
later.

4) If they are D20 or other similar game system players I would set them
down and explain to them that Deadlands combat is not the long chipping away
affair they are used to. Combat is usually very deadly and their characters,
if they don't run will die.
