I actually think Savage Worlds looks really exciting. Personal taste will keep me away from the test drive stuff as i'm not a  Generic Fantasy fan (after 20+ years of gaming, if I see another orc I'll scream), but the system seems to keep the cleverest bits of Deadlands while stripping it back to be fast and furious. Great for 1 off games set in strange times and places.

Ah yes.  RPG.net.  That website that reminds me why I don't read usenet 
anymore.

So, what's the rpg.net troll squad saying about Savage Worlds?  (I'm not on 
the SW listserv but I'm interested in hearing the gossip).
