Re: [DL] Question on hand to hand

ok here's from the 2nd ed. rules, out of the players book. pg. 127 says
under 'the attack' the target number of the attack is fair (5) plus the
oppoment's fightin' apptitude level for whatever weapon is currently in his
hand. a cowboy gets his fightin' brawlin' skill if he is empty handed or is
using some sort of improvised 'club' - like a bottle or pistol butt.

continued on page 128. lists modifiers for brawlin'. the last paragrah has
an example of ronan. it shows tn of 5 plus targets skill of 3, gives a tn of
8.

page 134 finnaly shows brawlin' damage. under 'hand-to-hand damage', it says
you do a strength check, if you are using a weapon you then roll it's damage
and add it to the strength roll.

ronan's xample shows rolling 3d6, getting 3,5,5 for a total of 5, since it's
a trait roll, then rolling a d6 for his knife and getting 5, for a total of
10. hit to vital spots, like gizzards and noggins give extra damage as
usual.

page 135 shows brawlin' damage for non-lethal atttacks. when using bare
hands or a light club. here you do a strength check as damge and then ad the
weapon, like a d4 for a light club. unlike normal attacks you don't get
bonus damage for hitting vitals. the target then makes a vigor roll. if the
damge is higher than the rollthe victim takes the difference in wind. if you
use a heavy club, you can choose either to do lethal or nonlethal damge.
nonlethal damage doesn't cause wounds, lethal does. nonlethal attacks allow
the target vigor rolls, lethal ones don't.
