another way to make it look that way is to use a milk
mist then slowly move it near a heat source. It can
also be done by soaking the paper into some slightly
dirty water and then blow drying it. then do the
wading trick as mentioned before. to give it the
crumbled look. 

At least that's how I think we did it back in grade
school when we did a project like that. 


Also if it is something sacred and such....you can
burn the edges of the paper....As with anything
involving fire be careful...I did a notebook like that
once and you should have seen the RP as they tried to
figure out what those words that burned off were.
