[DL] More Mad Scientist Stuff
Hopefully it's not too late to jump on the Mad Science Bandwagon (which
requires a flush to build if memory serves :)) so here's a new hindrance
I've been tinkerin' with.
"He tampered in God's domain" -5
Most folks suspect that mad scientists are fiddlin' around with forces they
can't control, and it makes them a little edgy. This hindrance just seems to
bear that out. For you player types, let's just say you shouldn't be too
surprised to find an angry mob at your doorstep every now and then.
The following spoiler space is just for kicks on my part. No, really.

What's that spell?
SPOILERS!
Alright, Marshals; think those snoopy players are gone? Good. The real scoop
on this hindrance is that whenever the mad scientist a) has a gizmo that
get's a Catastrophic Malfunction result or b) draws a Black Joker when
designing a gizmo, the fear level within a one-mile radius of the mad
scientist goes up by 2 for 2d4 days, in addition to the other troubles that
usually go along with the usual setbacks. First off, most people can
instinctively sense that the mad scientist is behind it and, if the Fear
Level jumps high enough (5 or 6) will form the stereotypical angry mob. If
that weren't bad enough, abominations are gonna flock to the mad scientist
(and his friends) like flies on manure. Cruel? Yes. But hey, hopefully he
managed to build a fast steamwagon.
