Helping the South=longer War=happy, happy Reckoners.

Having actually used Victory Games' classic *The Civil War*
boardgame to play out the entire first 16 years of The War in Deadlands, I
can attest to the fact that the *only* way history can be as it is in the
DL rulebook is for the South to get almost all the breaks, while the North
gets next to none.
I would never for a minute claim DL History is the most likely
turn of events, only that it's a *plausible* one. The DL rulebook gave me
as a writer a Point A (Gettysburg) and a Point B (the Confederacy alive and
kicking @ss 14 years later), which I connected in as believable,
entertaining, and (most of all) gameable manner possible. That work is
(mostly) all published now, so it is up to the readers to judge wheteher or
not it succeeds or fails in these aims.

While I do in fact loathe the entire Yankee race:-):-):-):-), I
never let it interfere with my writing.

Seriously, if a historically accurate War is what you're looking
for, just wait'll next year when Blood Feuds: The Weird War Between the
States hits the shelves. I think it'll be a groovy book for anyone
interested in gaming that period of time.
