And lets not forget the large contingent of Southerners who worked on the book. LOL. Seriously, the Union is weakened because basically the Deadlands history Can't exist if it isn't. It's not unreasonable to accept, although it does seem like the Reckoners helped out a lot by making breaks go the Southern way, and no luck at all to the Union.
At the same time, I was happy to see this discussion, because its always bothered me that it seemed like the Union lost on every front, while the South just has overwhelming success. I just attributed it to my pro-Union bias (born and raised in Ohio), but I'm glad to see I am not alone.
