RE: [DL] HELP - Hindrances & Edges
Also, bear in mind that the book says players can take more than 10 points
worth of hindrances, but they don't get any extra points after ten; they
thing they get is ample fuel for roleplaying goodness!
Here's an example: Jake the muckraker has d6's in Cognition, Knowledge, &
Smarts. So, aside from the free aptitudes, he takes shootin: pistol 5,
Gamblin 3, Overawe 3, Quick Draw 4, and Fightin: Brawlin 3. He then takes
some hindrances. He takes the -3 point Heroic Hindrance (I like to use -
signs for hindrances to avoid confusion) and -3 Big Britches Hindrance. This
gives him a total of six points to either improve his aptitudes or buy
edges. He decides to buy the 1 point "The Voice" (threatening) and the 1
point "The Stare" and use the remaining 4 points to bring up his Overawe and
Fightin skills to 5 each.
Hope this helps clarify things.
