I'd plan on 2 sessions of 4-5 hours each (this can vary by group). A good breaking
point for the night is right after the attempted lynching of Knaggs (I think that
was his name...), after the posse beds down.
Some tips on the adventure:
1. Do not let the players see the book! EVER! One of the guys in the group I ran had
been through the adventure before, and since I had the book hidden and made up my
own flavor text, he was completely surprised when we were done and I revealed it.
2. Since you are not running it for a while, throw out a couple of extra stations
that have been devastated by the nos. Afterwards, the posse will have a "So that's
what happened way back when..." as well as provide a red herring for whatever you
are running currently.
3. Play up the creepyness of the whistle. First they thought it was a woman
screaming, then wolves howling, kept em guessing right up until the train pulled in,
at which point they didn't have time to talk about it.
4. Use the Zombie conductor for all he's worth. He isn't dead until his body is
completely destroyed. Shocked the hell outta my posse when they rushed in, took off
the head of this "normal undead", and the body kept coming.
Have fun
